Prayer Opportunities!
August 1, 2018
Jesus said: “I am the true vine. You are the branches. Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me.” John 15:1, 4-5;
We want to be a church (gathering of believers who trust Jesus in all) that is well known for its powerful prayer. In history, significant seasons of prayer accompanied by a significant return to being almost daily in the Word of God, the Holy Scriptures and repentance oftentimes precede growth or renewal. Prayer is evidence of faith and trust in Jesus. If Christianity is having an alive relationship with Jesus, then prayer is the conversation.
We are grateful to all those who participate in our Hope prayer chain (led by Kathy L. now for several years), “praying” earnestly to our living God, Father Son and Holy Spirit on behalf of others. Sign up on the Hope website (www.hopelutheran.net) if you are not a part of the Hope prayer chain.
Here are some other prayer opportunities. All are welcome to any of these opportunities:
Friday evenings, 10 to midnight at Hope, weekly: A group of about ten people from several churches gather for prayer as led by Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Tuesday mornings, 8 am, Cedar Hill Transformation Prayer network: We pray for businesses, schools, churches and civic entities (police, fire, government, economic development leadership) in Cedar Hill. Pastor Edsel sends out a weekly text on location. Anyone is welcome.
First Thursday, 7:30AM, every other month, Cedar Hill Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast (February, April, June, August, October, December), Cedar Hill Recreation Center: Under Mayor Rob Franke’s leadership, various people lead in prayer for the Cedar Hill community.
