Help Out: TX Hurricane/Flooding Relief

Posted on August 28, 2017

Relief efforts related to Hurricane Harvey continue with both North American Lutheran Church (NALC) and Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC).

Thanks to all who have responded with gifts of time, supplies and donations … a beautiful overwhelming response!

The efforts are switching to long term recovery and rebuilding. After sending 9 large trailor loads of supplies to the So Texas recovery sites, the Clifton supply distribution center run by Peace Lutheran in Clifton will no longer be needed.

There will be an ongoing need for volunteer work teams at the recovery sites in South Texas.

If you would like to volunteer, be a part of a volunteer group or send needed supplies, contact the South Texas disaster relief sites in Rosenberg, Ingleside or Victoria to determine their needs. Here is a link with information: https://www.thenalc.org/projects/hurricane-harvey/

Donations are still needed and information regarding donations is available at that link as well.

Again, we are grateful for the tremendous response! People who were returning to their homes cried as they received needed supplies.

The TX District of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ also has opportunities to volunteer and donate to a relief fund. The easiest way to obtain the latest information is via a facebook page that is serving as a bulletin board for ongoing needs:

If you do not find the needed info on that page, contact Bryce Formwalt (bryce {at} lcmctexas(.)org) of TX District LCMC or we can put you in touch with him. Please notate that the donations are intended for Hurricane Harvey Relief. You can mail contributions to
